Earthbinders: Threads of The Quantum Veil
This story follows Leo Montara, a man torn between two worlds: his Earthbinding heritage, which ties him to the land and its mystical ley lines, and his legacy as the son of the CEO of Montara Corporation, a powerful company with a stranglehold on the world’s resources. In a society that prioritizes profit over the planet, Leo is forced to walk a dangerous line, balancing his commitment to sustainability with the corporate ambitions he’s expected to inherit.
In this world, Earthbinders like Leo—those who are deeply connected to the Earth's ley lines—are seen as second-class citizens, stripped of basic rights and subject to exploitation by those in power. Similarly, GMOs, individuals who have mutated through generations of pollution or genetic tampering, are marginalized and oppressed. While people with "powers" are treated as expendable, corporations like Montara and criminal organizations known as the Society profit from the very magic they condemn.
At its heart, this is a romance, a story about love and loyalty as Leo navigates complex relationships with two men: Josh, an idealistic farmer-turned-activist who becomes a powerful Earthbinder and Leo’s lover, and Dylan, a genetically-modified rogue working within the rebellion who once shared a connection with Leo in their youth. Together, they wrestle with their identities, their roles in a broken system, and their commitment to a better world—each bringing a unique perspective and a personal stake in the fight for ecological balance and social justice.
But the story is about more than romance. It’s a journey through the inner workings of corporate greed, government corruption, and ecological decay. As Leo struggles to reshape Montara Corporation from within, his father, Malachai, has his own plans—ambitions that include the exploitation of other worlds through portals to their ley lines, even if it brings ruin to both worlds. The stakes are high: as the ley lines are drained, Earthbinders lose their power, the planet’s ecosystems falter, and the balance that sustains life itself is threatened.
With intense themes of environmental and social justice, as well as mature content that explores power, desire, and moral compromise, this story doesn’t shy away from the raw and the real. Leo, Josh, and Dylan each face difficult choices about loyalty, survival, and what it truly means to protect the Earth. Their journey is one of rebellion, of love in the face of oppression, and of courage in a system that seeks to control them.
If you’re here for a gritty, layered story with a passionate love triangle, high-stakes political intrigue, and a deep commitment to exploring what it means to live in harmony with the land—while challenging the forces that seek to exploit it—you’re in the right place. This is a story that’s as much about revolution as it is about romance, with characters who are flawed, complicated, and unafraid to face their darkest sides.
Warning: This graphic novel contains mature content, including explicit romance, intense political themes, and a raw look at the impact of corporate greed and environmental exploitation. It’s a story for readers who appreciate complex characters, nuanced relationships, and stories that push boundaries.
Eco-dystopian worlds, LGBTQ+ romance, and readers who crave political stories with heart and heat.
